Submitting Outside Scholarships

Information for students

Submit all scholarship checks you receive to the Cashiers Office so the funds can be deposited into your university student account. You must endorse any check that is made payable to you and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Include the following with each check:

  • student's name
  • student's university student ID, home address, or last 4 digits of Social Security number
  • scholarship donor's name, address, and phone number
  • letter from donor with any scholarship stipulations, such as the academic term or terms for which the scholarship is intended

If your scholarship provider will be sending the check directly to the University (best practice), please have it sent with the information cited above to:

Information for scholarship donors

In order for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte to process scholarship checks most efficiently we kindly ask that you follow the guidelines below.

Make scholarship checks payable solely to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. 

Do not make checks payable to the student or to the university and the student, as this causes unnecessary delays in processing and disbursement of scholarships. 

Include a letter containing the following information with each check:

  • student's name
  • student's university student ID, home address, or last 4 digits of Social Security number
  • scholarship organization's name, address, and phone number
  • letter with any scholarship stipulations, such as the academic term or terms for which the scholarship is intended

Send scholarship checks with the information cited above to:
