Tax season will soon be upon us. Below are some items to consider during this time.
Sign up for electronic delivery of your Form W-2.
Sign up is required to receive your Form W-2 electronically, and the deadline is Dec. 31, 2018. Have you already consented to receive your Form W-2 electronically? If so, you are all set! A Form W-2 FAQ page is available to provide information on electronic Form W-2s for you.
Make sure your address is current.
If you do not plan to take advantage of receiving your Form W-2 electronically, please confirm your mailing address is correct (or permanent address, if no mailing address is provided) in Banner by Dec. 31, 2018.
Check your federal tax withholding.
Make sure you do not come up short on withholding for 2018 by following these IRS Form W-4 tips and using the IRS withholding calculator to perform a quick “paycheck checkup” (check out this IRS Withholding Calculator How To video).
Update your withholding if necessary.
If you need to update your withholding, we’ve got you covered. Once you have verified a change is needed using the tools provided above, changing the allowances on your Form W-4 and/or Form NC-4 is simple. Please note that due to IRS restrictions on non-resident alien taxation, this option is not available for our international student employees.
